Watch Out, YouTube: Facebook Is Finally Building A Video Hub

facebook-video-reel-ss-1920
Facebook video is finally getting a home.
Up to now, the social network has been content to let its users bump into video on the News Feed — serendipitously and targeted via algorithm — a strategy that has paid off exceedingly well, with people watching more four billion videos a day on Facebook. But YouTube remains the place to go for people actively looking for video to watch, and therefore, the Google property still remains the world’s top platform for video marketing.
Today, Facebook announced a move that could start shrinking the gap. It is testing a dedicated hub for people looking to watch video on Facebook that will help “people discover, watch and share videos on Facebook that are relevant to them.” The test, rolling out first for a small number of people, will give people access to the video section via an icon at the bottom of the iPhone app or from the “Favorites” section on the left-hand side of the News Feed on the Web.
Videos section
Facebook will populate the section with videos that people have saved for later, videos from friends, Pages they follow and video from other publishers. And to make it more likely that people will stick around and watch move video, Facebook is also testing a few other enhancements.
One of those, “suggested videos,” gives people a stream of other video to watch after clicking on one from the News Feed. It started testing in the summer and gives video publishers a cut of ads appearing within the stream. Facebook said today that it is pleased with initial results and has rolled out the feature globally to most iPhone users. It has also started testing it on the Web and will do that also on Android in the coming months.
Other tests — a pop-out video player to allow people to watch a video while continuing to scroll through their feed and a “save for later” button on videos so people can bookmark content they want to come back to — also align with the strategy to woo people looking to Facebook as a source for video entertainment.

How to Handle Multiple Social Media Pages for Your Business

Info People
Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are perhaps the most obvious social media channels to build your brand awareness. However, due to the ever-increasing range of platforms, and the inclusion features such as micro-blogging and media sharing, it can be difficult to keep up with the who (to follow) what (to post) and when (you should publish). All in all, multiple social media pages can be greatly beneficial to your business, provided you are implementing them properly.

There is plenty of software available to help out, but the first tool to managing your digital marketing is to distinguish the different types of social media. The model below, courtesy of Cite.co.uk, charts the different types and channels available:

It is important to note that these are not rigid categories, and many of the features of each overlap one another. Imagine some helpful Venn diagram that would take me the best part of a week to create. For example, the 'status update' feature of Facebook could be seen as a micro-blogging tool.

The following are some generic tips to help organise the running of your chosen platforms:-
  • Choose wisely. It is crucial to gage which social media platforms your target audience are most likely to engage with, and these should be prioritised first. For example, Pinterest is largely used by women, whereas Facebook use is growing fastest among users aged over 65. Snapchat has a primarily teenage base. If there is one area of social media which is using up a lot of your time but is yielding minimal results, then it is probably time to refocus your strategy.

  • Adapt. Each platform is capable of distinguishable features, and it is vital to work out which best work for you. For instance, Instagram is highly pictorial with a focus on images and short video, and the message that you may have sent out on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter could need to be adapted to fit the mould. Research suggests that posts with a photo on Facebook yield 120% more engagement than plain text alone.

  • Organisation is key. Perhaps create a folder or email address that is strictly designated to social media. That way your digital marketing will not get lost amongst other areas of business. Be cohesive and consistent in the tone and look of your online branding on all platforms. Designate specific time purely for social media, as this is likely to make your posting more effective than if it were sporadic. Socialmediaweek suggests that 5 hours a week is suffice, but obviously this is largely dependent on the scale of your campaign.

  • Monitor and analyse.  There are plenty of tools out there ready to help you analyse the data extracted from social media channels, but the problem is what to look for. Determining the best time to post to have the best outreach, measuring your click-through rate and how many posts you need per day are all vital to better digital marketing.

The following software is designed with your business needs in mind as they save you the near-impossible task of manually monitoring the aforementioned data. We have hand picked some of the best :-

Google Analytics

Google Analytics allows you to find out which online campaigns are bringing the most traffic and conversions, where your best visitors are located,  identifies your least performing pages and much much more. The app condenses all this information in an easy to use format that is an invaluable tool for any online business. Not to mention, it's free!

Hootsuite

Hootsuite allows your to monitor all of your channels in one, delegate tasks and eliminate the trouble of co-ordinating responses to consumers. Free when using in accordance with 5 social profiles.

Bitly

Featuring real-time analytics along with the ability to track clicks and remember your favourite posts and pages, Bitly has a neat and clean interface and allows your to shorten URLs for posting on sites like Twitter. Once again, the tool is completely free.

With the digital marketing opportunities and resources available these days, there is no reason why you shouldn't build a big online presence through the use of different social media channels. Social media is an incredible tool - used wisely and effectively, it can have a dramatic, positive impact on your business. http://www.socialsongbird.com/2015/10/how-to-handle-multiple-social-media.html

Facebook Paid £4,327 In Corporation Tax Last Year In The UK

Facebook paid £4,327 in corporation tax in the UK last year according to the company's latest filings. This is despite paying its 362 UK staff an average of £210,000 per year.
By giving its UK staff shares worth upwards of £35.4 million, the company increased its losses in the UK to £28.5m in turn significantly reducing the amount of tax that it needs to pay.
facebook
Although employing over 300 people in the UK, Facebook's international HQ for the region is based in Ireland while many of its tax arrangements are based out of the Cayman Islands.
The amount paid by Facebook is actually less than the average amount that a single person pays in the UK. The Independent points out that the average salary is £26,500 which would results in a total of £5,393 being deducted in tax and National Insurance.
Facebook responded to the news, giving a statement to The Sunday Times saying: “We are compliant with UK tax law, and in fact in all countries where we have operations and offices. We continue to grow our business activities in the UK”
The £4,327 paid last year is actually an increase in the amount of corporation tax paid by Facebook in the UK, after it paid nothing for the past two years before that.

Making Sure Your WordPress is Securely Installed

The next thing you need to do is take care of security issues on your site. WordPress has a plugin called Better WP Security that lets you change certain WordPress features to make it more difficult for the hackers to gain access. Be sure to take advantage of this tool to give you the best chance at a secure WordPress site.

Better WP Security will let you:

* Change the default ‘Admin’ username to something different
* Lock entrance to the admin at specific time periods
* Change your admin user ID from 1 to something different
* Ban users based on the IP addresses
* Automatically email your database backups to yourself
* Change the URL you use to login from wp-login to something different
* Change your WordPress directory files from wp-content to something different
* Change your database prefix from wp_ to something different
* Check the number of hits on 404 pages and lock the user out if they are excessive
* Track any file changes
* Limit the number of times you can login attempts with the wrong password

And there’s more.

One of the easiest ways to get through a site’s security is with their password.  Many don’t take the time to create solid passwords because they claim they take too much time, but compared to the time it will take you to attempt to rebuild your site, it seems like such a small price.

When you are creating a password:

Every password should be at least 15 characters
Every site should be different
Is strongest if it is not an actual word
Is strongest if it is a mix of special characters, lowercase letters, capital letters and numbers.

Regular Backups
The last thing you need to do is make sure you are taking regular backups of your site files and database(s). That way should the unthinkable happen, you will at least have a backup safely stored away, which will certainly reduce your stress.

One of the most popular plugins for doing this is called ‘WordPress Backup to Dropbox.’ This will create a backup and then upload that backup to Dropbox for safe keeping.  You can also email that backup to yourself. That’s because the Dropbox plugin keeps only one backup, so sending to yourself allows you to keep many versions.

Get busy, add your plugin(s), change your passwords, make your backups and make your site as secure as possible.

Its Easy to Protect Your WorePress Website Against Security Breaches

If you have a WordPress site, it is very important that you take at least the basic steps to ensure you are secure from hackers. This isn’t really ‘news,’ after all this has been known for a long time, yet still many people do not stop and consider website security when they are creating their sites. They don’t do any reading on the topic because it’s too technical and just plain boring, and far too often people think it won’t happen to them. Therefore, they also don’t do anything to protect their blog or site. The good news is that in under 30 minutes you can improve your security and not spend a dime.

#1 Change the ‘Admin’ Username
The default login for WordPress is ‘admin.’ Trouble is most users just keep it that way, making it incredibly easy for hackers to figure out your user name. Now they are already half logged into your site. Change the ‘admin’ login into something new!

#2 Create a Strong Password
Your WordPress is only as strong as your weakest link, and your password is often that weak link. Hackers use software that scrolls through hundreds of thousands of words looking for a match, which
is why you should not be using a real word for your password. You should also not use a logical sequence of letters or numbers. So don’t use your pet’s name, your birthday, your phone number, etc. You can use a password generator to help you if you trouble coming up with a strong password.

#3 Delete & Update
WordPress is known for being weak on security. The reality is WordPress is only insecure when the users do not keep it current. Any part of your website that isn’t running the latest version is always at a risk of being hacked. Hackers are constantly looking for vulnerabilities and if you aren’t staying current you are at risk. So make sure you are running the most current version of WordPress, installed plugins and installed themes.

#4 Limit the Login Attempts
Install a plugin that will limit the number of times a person can try to login before the site shuts them down. The Limit Login Attempts plugin is one good choice. When you limit the number of times one can try to access your site, you reduce the likelihood of being hacked.

That’s it – there’s plenty more so don’t stop after you’ve done these four things, but this is a great place to start.

Using a Password Service to Protect Your WordPress Site

It seems all we talk about is creating strong passwords and if you are like most people, you create a password that you thought was solid only to find out it is not. What’s the solution? Using a password service is a great way to create a strong password and protect your WordPress site.

There are a number of these services – two that come to mind are LastPass and 1Password. You install the software on your computer and it will create these wild passwords that are up to 50 characters and really just look like gibberish. What’s even better is that it memorizes them for you, because there is no way you could remember these passwords. Then to keep all those passwords secure you use a master password. That way even if your passwords are stolen the hackers are going to need the master password.

A good master password needs to be strong – in fact it’s critical because all your other passwords lay in the balance of this. Follow as many password rules as you can and this one you need to memorize.

You’ll need to memorize your master password and you will also need to memorize any passwords needed to access your computer or if you visit the internet through your television. Apple passwords
also often have to be memorized. The passwords you need to memorize shouldn’t be more than a dozen and it will likely be more like 5 or 6.

You will need to be patient as it takes time to transition your entire life online to a password service. You’ll be surprised at just how often you use passwords. Think about it – every time you login somewhere you use a user ID and a password. Getting the system up and functioning completely can be a real challenge, but stick with it, because eventually you will be far more secure and have way less passwords to remember.

You should actually have a password service for your mobile devices and your desktop devices. These are different and will require two different downloads and if it’s a paid service two different purchases.

If you really want to boost your password security on WordPress use more than one password. Have a two factor authorization. This means that your login will require two parts of information. For example, your password and something you know. It provides an extra layer of protection in a number of applications including Twitter, Apple, Dropbox and Google.

Today is a good day to get started with your password service!

4 Powerful Ways to do Market Research and Uncover a Profitable Niche for Free

Aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners are often misled or misguided on the topic of how to properly conduct market research that uncovers a profitable niche.

The path most unsuspecting entrepreneurs take is by ending up at keyword tool or database to begin their search.

As a keyword research expert and founder of one of the leading keyword research services on the
internet, I can say with firsthand experience that keyword databases are not the first place to look nor should be even considered.  Here’s why.

The primary keyword databases that are currently available to the general public only give search counts on a limited amount of data that accounts for 1% - 2% of the actual searches people do around the entire world.  They can only predict (emphasis added) the real majority of searches that are being done on the big five search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, AOL and Ask.com which hold 97%-98% of the keyword data.

Most importantly, keyword research only shows what keyword phrases people are using in the search engines to search for answers, not what people actually buy on the internet.  Just because a group of people search for specific terms or brand names does not mean that’s what they purchase.  That’s a key distinction many entrepreneurs and business owners tend to gloss over.

When looking for a profitable niche marketplace, your primary focus should be looking for proof of a group of hungry and rabid buyers that want to exchange their money for a service or product (information, physical or digital).  Without this crucial qualifier, you may have the greatest product in the world, but you may be lacking a market to sell it to.

This article will present a number of great sources to look at which will give you a running start to uncover a truly, profitable marketplace exists before you go for the gold and put all your resources into a website, product creation or expenditures toward some sort of online property.

Once you establish that you have located a market that contains signs of adequate commerce moving through it, you then have a worthy reason to look further into a keyword research service to find out what keyword phrases people use to find the market you have chosen.

Let’s begin looking at how to identify a profitable market.

<b>MAGAZINES</b>

One of the best ways to find signs of a truly profitable marketplace is looking for a magazine in that industry.  If a publisher has enough money to print and circulate a full color magazine, there are most likely advertisers that support the funding of the magazine’s ability to circulate all the copies which most likely means there are sales being made by those advertisers.

Now, this may bring you to question whether there is too much competition in a marketplace with so many advertisers selling in a magazine.

In fact, it’s a great sign to have competition which means there is an adequate amount of customers to sell to and a portion of a sizable pie to be had in that marketplace.  If there is very little competition, you may (1) not have adequate product being sold in that space; or (2) not have a marketplace to begin with.  The larger the competition is, the larger the piece of revenues you will be able to grab.

Without having to leave your seat, you can hop on over to Magazines.com and looking through the number of different categories to find a profitable topic or industry in which to start an online concern.

One of the things you’ll want to focus in on is the number of subscribers each magazine has and how long the magazine has been in print for stability purposes.

Make a list of magazines you want to look into and then go hunting for them at one of those large dedicated newsstands that covers just about every magazine on every topic.

To get a better look at what people are buying in the online world, you will need to ultimately decide whether you wish to represent physical or digital products.

<b>PHYSICAL PRODUCTS</b>

There are two incredibly huge marketplaces that are massively trafficked, move a lot of product and are great places to find what people are really buying.

Let’s start with the first huge marketplace…

<i>eBay</i>

At eBay, you can look through a list of the most popular products people are buying through auctions or from eBay stores that vendors have setup.  To see a visual path on how to locate the most popular products, please use the reference below to view the extended version of this article.
<i>Amazon.com</i>

Another really big marketplace is Amazon and it’s not just for books.  You can find just about any product and name brand that is a mover and shaker.  Again, look at the most popular products in those categories that catch your attention.

<b>DIGITAL PRODUCTS</b>

If you wish to sell products of the digital nature which does not require inventory and which usually carries high profit margins for affiliates, you’ll want to check out the Clickbank digital marketplace that ranks product sales from highest to lowest sellers in each category.

Just browse through categories at Clickbank.com and you’ll instantly find the top sellers of digital info products, software and subscription services which are located right at the top listings.  See also reference section below for a link to the extended version of this article for visual aids and more detailed guidance.

Once you gather the adequate market research, you can do one of the following:

• Create an online store that ships out physical products and merchandise (requires inventory)
• Sell merchandise through eBay auctions or their online stores (requires inventory)
• Create a site that represents vendors as an affiliate (requires no inventory)
• Create your own product, service or software for a digital product (requires no inventory)

Having used at least two of the four places above, you can be assured that you have conducted proper market research to uncover “proof positive” what people are buying and, thus, a profitable niche market.

You can then quickly build out a non-complex site with a simple product offering, find some low cost keywords to use in a Google Adwords Pay-Per-Click campaign with a minimal spend of $50 to test the market and see if you have a winner.

If the initial test results pan out, meaning that you pulled a profit from your test, you can invest more energies, conduct more extensive keyword research and expend more advertising dollars.  If the test results do not pan out, find another market until something sticks.

I believe this should arm you with enough information to get you moving toward finding a market with bottomless profits.

5 Bad & Lousy Words You Should Never Say In Your Salesletter

Do you know exactly why people don’t seem excited to buy your product? Have you ever wonder why your competitors make more sales even though they have a terrible product to offer? Even worse, why people couldn’t even be bothered to live their email address in your opt-in form and subscribe to your free newsletter?
You may wonder people just don’t feel interested to buy your product or maybe your price is too high. Or you’ve finally realized that your product is a pile of junk and decided to find another product to sell.

You’ve got to stop whatever you’re doing and think for a moment. It is not your product to be blame. Sometimes your own salesletter which is the one that kill your business. You’ve written some words that people don’t even want to hear and scare the hell out of them. Studied has shown using these words will decrease your sales up to 75%.

So, what are exactly the bad words you should never say in your newsletter?

1) Buy – This specifically asking people to take out their wallet and spend some money. Bare in mind, most people surf the Internet searching certain information for free and sometimes they need more time before considering buying your product. Whatever business you’re doing, using this word alone can destroy your business in split second. Instead of using the word ‘buy’, change it to ‘claim’ or ‘invest’. Ask yourself, which one sound better, “Buy this amazing product” or “Claim this amazing product.”

2) Learn – This will remind people back in the old days where they have to study and learn in 1st or 2nd Grade. Nobody wants to squeeze their brain out and learn something new on the Internet. Information on the Internet is just too huge. Nowadays, people want fast information and have no time to learn. Instead of using the word ‘learn’, it is better to use the word ‘discover’. Now we are giving somewhere. Does this word sounds a lot better, “Discover 10 Easy Tips To Improve Your Golf Swing.”

3) Tell – You don’t have to use this word to explain the benefit of your product. People will not listen to you if they don’t recognize you. Study this two words carefully, “Let me tell you the secrets of becoming a millionaire” or “Let me reveal to you the secrets of becoming a millionaire.” Which one do you think that will make people keep on reading your newsletter?

4) Things – Using this word will not make your salesletter sound astonishing. It makes the salesletter very boring to read. This will make people lost their confidence in whatever you’ve offered to them. Instead of using the word ‘things’, consider to revise it to ‘tips’, ‘tricks’ or ‘techniques’. “Get these 5 great techniques right away” is far better than “Get these 5 great things right away.”

5) Stuff – This word is what most marketers used to describe how great the product is. If you change it to ‘Insider Secrets’, definitely this will give people an urge to act right away. Consider this two words, “Click here to download your 7 stuffs” or “Click here to download your 7 amazing insider secrets.” Which one would you like to click?

If you can avoid this 5 bad words, your sales will definitely boost up to the roof. Don’t neglect the power of these words. Now, it’s time for you to check all your salesletter and change it (if any) right away. You will be surprise of the outcome.

5 Proven Methods To Gain and Retain Customers for Your Online Business

Here is the basic rule of every business: you have to sell things to earn money.  Salesmanship, or the art of closing a sales, therefore, is of ultimate importance for any business venture.  After all, we can't expect any earnings if we don't make any sales.

Winning customers is essential for the success of your enterprise.  And this is absolutely true for online businesses too.  In fact, winning customers online has its pros and cons. The good news is that the entire world is your market, and you could potentially reach more people through the World Wide Web.  The disadvantage?  The Internet offers a more impersonal channel in our dealings with people, making it more difficult to gain their trust and favor.

So what can you to do then?  Fear not, dear friend.  As with everything else in life, you should try to accentuate the positives to compensate for the negatives.  Here are 5 methods by which you could gain a good number of customers, and keep them for a long and profitable business for you and your family.

#1 Always deliver quality goods or services.

There is no better vehicle for our business message than our products themselves.  Consistently offering things that are more than worth our customers' time and money will brand us as enterprises that are committed to quality products and services.  This would only serve us well in future dealings with the same clients.  Additionally, this would make our clients as advertising vehicles for our business as well, as they would spread the word about the excellence of our service to people belonging to their network.

#2 Always try to over-deliver.

People love receiving more than what they paid for.  If you consistently give them some extras, their minds would be conditioned to trust your business for future transactions.

3#  Provide bonuses.

In addition to the product you're selling, add some more goods that would perk up the package.  Do this in a manner that you will make your customers aware of the value of the bonuses if they were
otherwise purchased.  This would definitely increase the worth of your product, and such would make it more favorable for a successful sale.  Additionally, your bonuses would foster good will with your clients, and this could go a long, long way for future orders.

#4 Build relationships.

The importance of building good relationships with your customers cannot be undermined.  As we've discussed earlier, the Internet is a rather informal venue for personal dealings.  So try to humanize your approach so that your customers can relate to you as someone who is more than just a business provider, but also as a friend.

#5 Make use of a mailing list.

A mailing list is an Internet marketers number one weapon.  By capturing the contact details of people who may not have been interested with their current offer, they will be able to condition the
same people for future sales.  And this could serve their businesses well for quite a long time, as one successful sale can beget another and another after that.  So invest on an excellent autoresponder service and prepare those follow-up messages well.  Take good care of your subscriber base, and they will take good care of your business in return.

Winning customers is more than just luck.  It entails a lot of strategizing and good planning.  Retaining customers involve the same level of commitment as well.  In the highly competitive world of online marketing, trust plays an integral role in achieving our goals.  Try your best to win your customers' trust.  Take care of it.  And for sure, this trust would fuel good business for you for many years to come.
